These two self catering guesthouses - Hillhouse and Lakehouse, sleep up to 16 people, providing the perfect accommodation for large groups of family and friends, workshops or retreats. Both houses are private and self sufficient and may be booked separately. They nestle quietly amongst orchards, woodland and grassland that look onto the beautiful valley below.

Join us in the garden; we have bee hives, food gardens and Oak forests where you will find Porcini mushrooms in Autumn. Botanical enthusiasts will love the succulent garden on the terraces below Hillhouse and the hothouse collection of interesting and unusual plants. As you walk down the driveway you are welcome to pick fruit from the peach, plum and citrus trees in the orchard between the houses.

Bring your walking shoes and bicycles to explore the farm when you come and stay. There are wonderful walks into the indigenous forest and down to a small dam where you may picnic amongst the many species of buck, birds and other wildlife.

Below us in the valley is Midmar Dam, only a few kilometers away as the crow flies, where one can fish, sail, water ski or take part in one of the many sporting events.

Hillhouse accommodation is pet friendly. Bring your fury friends for some fun. There is plenty of space, all the necessary comforts, and beautiful peaceful surrounds.

This converted farm shed combines the simplicity of a farm building with style.

It is a rustic, eclectic, spacious and welcoming venue that sleeps twelve people. Its open plan design has large glass entrances on either end of the building, industrial windows, large light filled spaces, comfy couches, and two long sixteen seater banquet tables.

The main bedroom has a queen bed with an en-suite bathroom.

The other three bedrooms have two single beds which may be put together to make a double. One of these bedrooms is on the landing, so not private. Please note that the bedrooms have wooden walls, and sound travels between the rooms.

There are four bathrooms in total. All with showers.

There is an additional mezzanine with four beds overlooking the living area, better suited to children and teens, as this area is not private.

100% cotton bed linen and towels are provided, there is a fully equipped kitchen, braai facilities and an open fireplace in the lounge. Wood is provided.

Lakehouse info

The wrap around veranda has 180 degree views of Midmar dam and the valley below. It is perfect for couples or small families. This house is ideal to hire out in conjunction with Hillhouse for larger groups.

Lakehouse sleeps four. There are two bedrooms each with single beds which may be put together to make a double.

There is one bathroom with a shower.
