Do not follow the GPS, it will take you on the most direct but incorrect farm road.

On the N3 motorway take the Howick/Tweedie North offramp coming from the North ( Jhb )

Coming from the South ( Durban ) take the Howick/Midmar offramp

Follow directions to Midmar Dam

On the R103 turn onto the Petrus Stroom road

Travel for 4kms and turn left at No. 7 Crooks/Hillhouse

There is a security gate here, call me on 0845305281 to open

Follow the road up the hill and enjoy the view of the dam

Turn right at the Hillhouse sign

Follow the road up to  Lakehouse (seen first) and Hillhouse at the top

The last 8km of the route is on a dirt road, which is best navigated by a vehicle with good ground clearance. While a 4x4 is not required, vehicles with low clearance may need to travel more slowly.
